Rolf Ericson came back to Sweden in the fall of 1950 after three years in the US, where he had worked in the bands of Charlie Barnet, Woody Herman, Charlie Ventura, Benny Carter and others. He even subbed for Red Rodney during a week in Charlie Parker's quintet in the New York club Three Deuces before returning to Sweden.

A month after this recording Charlie Parker would tour Sweden playing concerts with Rolf and local musicians. In the Stockholm concert he played with the quintet that Lars and Rolf co-led 1950-51. Gullin jammed with Parker after the concert.

The band on this recording hints at the band that Rolf Ericson and Arne Domnérus would form together in the coming spring.
